Driving Iceland's Ring Road, aka Route 1

Last month, contributor Howard Blount wrote up a great piece on Iceland, which he visited after winning our Icelandair giveaway. It’s full of great insight, tips and things to know before you go, including the fact that you should eat at gas stations. As Howard writes, “The most economical way to eat while roadtripping Iceland is at gas stations, and you will find the food to be surprisingly delicious!”

The larger takeaway here is to always do your research before visiting a new destination. You just never know where you’ll be able to find savings, as well as memorable meals and experiences. More immediately, Iceland is an amazing destination that is sometimes expensive, and Icelandic gas stations can be a great resource for visitors. Make sure to read Howard’s post here!
