Seat pricing on an AA YYZ-LAX flight

Why You Shouldn’t Pay Extra for American Airlines’ Preferred Seats
As you probably know by now, legroom in coach is getting tighter and tighter. That’s because the airlines have started squeezing more seats into planes to make more money. If that weren’t bad enough, some airlines (ahem, American) now charge extra for a regular coach seat but disguise it as a “Preferred Seat.” How’s that? Take for example the 737—800 flying from Toronto’s Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) I write about in this post.

I paid for seat upgrades on Delta over the holidays and they robbed me of them both ways. Not worth the trouble to pay or the trouble to demand a refund. Experience the Delta indifference.
