JJ phoneLock Your Phone, Pay Less
When I returned from a trip to the Maldives a few years back, I was shocked to find that I had $35 in 4-1-1 charges. I never call information (and certainly not from my mobile phone) and though I contested the charge with T-Mobile, they wouldn’t remove it. The only explanation for the charges was that I inadvertently butt-dialed 4-1-1 multiple times (unlikely) or the maid used my phone (even more unlikely).

It’s still a mystery to me, but to save yourself another chance of extra phone charges on the road, be sure your phone’s keypad is locked—and if you leave it in your room, put a security code on it.
