Keep Your Boarding Pass
Yesterday’s tip was about making sure your frequent flyer number is on your ticket. Well, just because the number is on there doesn’t guarantee you’ll get credit for the flight. That’s why you should always log into your account a day or two later to make sure (American and Delta usually credit within 24 hours).
If your credit is not registered in your account (it does happen), you’ll need your ticket number to request it—and the ticket number is on your boarding pass, so don’t throw it away after your flight. I keep all of mine because I’m a packrat but also so if I don’t get credit for my flight, I can prove to the airline I was on the flight.
