Travel Tip of the Day: In-Flight Wi-Fi for Less

In-flight Wi-FiIn-Flight Wi-Fi for Less
I love Wi-Fi—especially when I’m up at 35,000 feet. In-flight Wi-Fi means I can get my work done on the plane instead of twiddling my thumbs, and when I land, I don’t have to hole myself up in my hotel room to catch up and I can instead enjoy myself more at my destination.

The only problem with in-flight Wi-Fi is that it can be expensive—but especially if you buy it on the plane. The trick here is to sign up for Wi-Fi in advance. First, find out if your flight offers inflight Wi-Fi, and the name of the provider, though chances are it’s going to be Gogo since they’re by far the leader in in-flight Wi-Fi. Then, just head to Gogo’s website and “” (under the “Connect” tab). An All-Day Pass is $19, which is about half the price charged to those already onboard a transcontinental flight.

Of course, if it’s not Gogo, the pricing will be different, but it will still be cheaper to buy in advance if you can.
