Carry a Universal Sink Stopper
My buddy Gary Arndt (he runs the site Everything Everywhere) recommends long-term travelers always carry a universal sink stopper—a cheap piece of rubber (like this one) that you can stuff in a sink or bathtub that otherwise won’t fill so you can do laundry. It also takes up little to no space in your luggage.
