Each Friday, we feature a reader-submitted tip as our Travel Tip of the Day. This week’s tip comes from reader Roger D., who says:
“I’ve always inspected rental cars before taking them off the lot, taking pictures of any dents, dings or scratches. But, it never occurred to me to inspect the car’s tires. I was billed by Avis $100 to replace a tire with a nail in the sidewall. While I never saw the nail or lost tire pressure, I suspect that it had been in the tire prior to me renting the car. Check you tires! Also, the American Express supplemental insurance does not cover damage to tires.”
Good to know. Thanks, Roger!
