The only thing useful about —to me—is the little box that reads “Sign up for Daily Security Alerts.” Click it to sign up, and then fill in your info and check “Global Risk.” Then every weekday you’ll receive an email that informs you what’s going on in the world. It’s one of the most informative newsletters out there (and it’s free) for world travelers and those that do business around the globe. Not only does it alert you to all of the “hotspots” out there, but it also evaluates the security threats.
The “levels range from 1 (Very Low) to 5 (Very High) and are determined using a comprehensive system that utilizes both qualitative and quantitative analysis. The primary factors used to determine a location’s security threat level are Armed Conflict, Crime, Demonstrations/Strikes, Ethnic/Sectarian Tensions, Graft/Corruption, Kidnapping, Political Instability, Government Restriction and Terrorism.”
Towards the bottom of the newsletter it also lists all of the next 10 days significant dates and holidays. Helpful!
