reader-travel-tip2Pause Your In-Flight Wi-Fi
Each Friday, we feature a reader-submitted tip as our Travel Tip of the Day. This week’s tip comes from reader Paul M., who says:

“On some flights that charge for Wi-Fi, they are charging by the hour. However, some systems (e.g. United) let you put the timer on pause. If you only need to check your email (or even use iMessage), do so in short bursts and you can string that hour out to last the entire flight. After signing in, look for a pause function. I was recently on a 6.5-hour flight on which I milked one hour to last the entire flight.”

Not all in-flight Wi-Fi is created equal (and works the same way), but this is a great tip for when it does—like on and with Panasonic Wi-Fi (not Gogo). Thanks, Paul!

Wow, this one of those, “It seems so obvious but why did I never think of it?” tips. I’ll be using that on my travels this week :)

    Great share.
