reader-travel-tip2Bad Water Means Bad Ice
Each Friday, we’re featuring a reader-submitted tip as our Travel Tip of the Day. This week’s tip comes from reader Adrian J., who continues the water theme from Monday’s tip by saying:

“Years ago I was working in Spain when a new guy joined us. He was very careful about the water but got hammered because of the ice. Lesson learned by all involved!”

A good reminder: In a place where the local water should be avoided (Spain wouldn’t usually qualify, but every stomach is different), the ice is usually trouble, too. Opt for no ice, or at the very least, make sure to ask where the ice came from, just as you would when you’re served water. Thanks, Adrian!

Since ice is made directly from water that seems a fairly simple tip to deduce. Why don’t we include something a bit less obvious like: bad water = don’t eat the salad which has been washed IN the water which is something you are far less likely to think of.
