Contributor Ramsey Qubein recently wrote up his experience flying Hong Kong Airlines business class from LAX to Hong Kong. It’s an insightful write-up as usual, but of particular note today is his advice regarding how to secure more privacy in business class on flights with certain configurations. (Note: You’ll typically see your plane’s configuration when you pick a seat online, but you can also input your flight number and date on .) When flying in business class with a 1-2-1 seating configuration, the rows may alternate the location of the table: between the window seat and the window, and between the window seat and the aisle (see photo above). Says Ramsey:
“Be sure to request seats with the table beside the aisle (as mine was), as this configuration provides far more privacy (especially when the seat is reclined). The center seats alternate in similar fashion, and again choosing a seat with the table closer to the aisle is advised in the interest of increased privacy.”
