Everything I’ve ever heard about the Aman resorts is true. From exceptional, but nearly invisible service, discreet amenities, a gift on your pillow and general wonderfulness, Aman’s latest US outpost, , delivers on all fronts.
Tucked into a private canyon in the Four Corners region (where Utah, Arizona, Nevada and Colorado meet) Amangiri’s simple, monolithic architecture is sympathetic with the natural terrain, and the palette both inside and out was perfect.
The spa experience was as expected, given the attention to detail throughout the resort.
Activities include fantastic hiking and canyoning both on and off property, with plenty of helpful advice from staff experts on hand. The pool is oft-photographed and sublime.
The highlight of the trip was likely the best dinner I’ve ever experienced. Booking through Centurion Travel Service afforded us a bespoke dinner for two by the visiting chef. We requested a seafood theme, dairy free, and the experience was unequalled. Even as I write this from the Riviera, where we’ve feasted on the best that St. Tropez, Cap D’Antibes and Menton have to offer.
I don’t skimp on travel and, from The Mercer in NYC, Lanesborough in London, and the Meurice in Paris, I’ve seen some of the best the world has to offer. With Amangiri’s uncompromising commitment to doing everything right., we didn’t find a corner cut, or detail overlooked.
While the 4+ hour drive to/from Las Vegas seems daunting, it’s wide open road, with spectacular scenery all the way. A quick detour through Zion National Park on the way back only made the journey that much better.
