I grew up in New England (Connecticut), and without a doubt the prettiest time of the year there was autumn. I know many travelers from all over the world travel to the U.S. just to witness the fall foliage. If you haven’t planned your trip yet, check out . It’s the ultimate visual planning guide brought to you by the folks from Smoky Mountains. As noted on the page: “While no tool can be 100% accurate, this tool is meant to help travelers better time their trips to have the best opportunity of catching peak color each year.”

Just move the slider from left to right to see the map of the U.S. change colors in accordance with the date. I’m not sure it’s 100% accurate since it claims Connecticut will be past its peak by October 8, and I think that’s a few weeks early. But only Mother Nature knows.
