How to fly like a movie star
If you’ve ever flown on a plane with a big movie star, you know they usually have a much different airport experience than the rest of us do. There’s almost always someone there fast-tracking them through security and immigration and even when they’re changing planes. Thanks to a new service called Solve, the average Joe can now get through security and immigration and transfer planes like a movie star—as long as they’re willing to spend the money.

Solve is an easy-to-book airport concierge service that saves international travelers time by expediting the immigration and customs process and providing an escort through the whole process in more than 500 airports worldwide. How do they do it? They use a network of on-the-ground local experts with insider insights, airport-specific knowledge, and security clearances.

Pricing varies by airport, so I priced out several (below) that I think travelers might want to use Solve’s services in. For example, for Paris CDG the prices are as follows:

Arrival Service (CDG)

  • Meet you at your plane
  • Expedite immigration and customs
  • Coordinate ground transportation
  • 1 passenger = $290 / 2 passengers = $145 each / 3 passengers = $113.33 each

Departure Service (CDG)

  • Meet you curbside at the terminal
  • Escort to the front of the security line
  • Take you to a lounge or waiting area
  • Escort you to your departure gate
  • 1 passenger = $290 / 2 passengers = $145 each / 3 passengers = $113.33 each

Connection Service (CDG)

  • Meet you at your plane
  • Expedite immigration and customs
  • Recheck your luggage, if necessary
  • Take you to a lounge or waiting area
  • Escort you to your departure gate
  • 1 passenger = $290 / 2 passengers = $145 each / 3 passengers = $113.33 each

It’s much cheaper for travelers to Bangkok, where prices start at $90 per person. Here are some other airport prices:

  • Bangkok
  • New York JFK
  • Sydney
  • London Heathrow
  • Johannesburg
  • Rio de Janeiro

To view more, just change the three-letter airport code at the end of each URL. Bottom line: I wouldn’t use Solve for myself because I’m an experienced traveler, but there’s a good chance I would’ve in the beginning. And I would consider using it for someone like my dad (he’s 88) who could use the extra help and doesn’t like waiting around (although just ordering a wheelchair for him usually does the same job for free).
