The Hilo Farmers Market is definitely one of my favorite things to do on the Big Island – where else can you buy exotic fruits like Rambutans in the United States? It’s located in historic downtown Hilo at the corner of Mamo Street and Kamehameha Avenue and is open all year round. Wednesday and Saturday’s are the markets big days when they have over 200 local farmers and crafters selling their goods that range from produce, crafts, gift items, tropical flowers and homemade food in a festive outdoor atmosphere from 6:00 am – 4:00 pm.  It’s also open on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday from 7:00 am – 4:00 pm but it’s much smaller with just over 30 farmers and crafters.
