Take the Free Tissues in Asia

Free tissuesEach Friday, we feature a reader-submitted tip as our Travel Tip of the Day. This week’s tip comes from reader Mary G., who builds on an old travel tip by saying:

“Outside of major cities throughout most of Asia, for visits to temples, historic sites, elephant sanctuaries, unspoiled beaches, etc., tissue and an inexpensive men’s white handkerchief are both handy to have. Not only is tissue not provided but, often, there are also no paper towels or hand dryers. In Japan, companies give away little packages of tissue on the streets as promotional handouts. Take the tissue and say thank you.”

This works. I remember when I first saw them . Thanks, Mary!
