You Can Now Text for Free on Southwest Airlines Flights

You can now text for free on Southwest Airlines flightsSouthwest Airlines is now offering free text messaging aboard its flights. It’s the third U.S. airline to do so, joining Alaska Airlines and Delta.

To take advantage, Apple users can use iMessage, which is already built into all iOS products, to send messages to other Apple users. (When messages are colored blue and not green, you’re sending an iMessage. You don’t have to take any extra steps to message with other Apple users when you fly Southwest.) However, to text using an Android or Windows phone, you need to use the free , which you must have downloaded before you take off. Apple users might want to download WhatsApp as well so they can message with both Apple and non-Apple phones from the sky.
