Bring Fast-Drying Clothes If You Plan to Do Laundry

Each Friday, we feature a reader-submitted tip as our Travel Tip of the Day. This week’s tip comes from reader Janet, who builds on this week’s laundry tip:

“When we travel, my husband and I wash our clothes in the shower at night and use one of those nifty travel clotheslines to hang them up in the bathroom. If you buy clothes made of space-age fast drying fabrics they are usually dry the next day. So you only need about three changes to get you through your trip. Plus you never have to look for a laundromat and you always have something clean to wear.”

Thanks, Janet!

  1. Bring fast drying clothes even if you use a laundromat. In many countries, the dryers (if they have them) don’t dry clothes as well as ones you may be used to using at your house. Fast drying clothes will dry when you drape them all over your room or apartment or on drying racks!

Where do you get ‘fast drying clothes’ is there a particular store or manufacturer or fabric?

That is a really clever way to see it. Thanks for sharing.

  4. On the 17th day of a 21 day European trip a few decades ago, we had to wash the jeans we had been wearing as they were standing on their own. We were in Switzerland and decided to try a laundromat. The washer did its thing so we tried the dryer. It had 2 settings: OFF and lets melt the thread sewn into your buttons. Very efficient those Swiss. Oh well….
