Each Friday, we feature a reader-submitted tip as our Travel Tip of the Day. This week’s tip follows Wednesday’s tip about Bangkok’s DMK airport. It comes from reader Shaggy Dog, who writes:
“Travelers from Buenos Aires should leave at least three hours to check in for an international flight (such as back to the U.S.) at the airport there. This was a first for me. Sometimes when you fly into a new country, you have to wait over an hour to get your passport stamped. But in Buenos Aires, it was the exact opposite: We had to wait in a long line, almost 90 minutes, to get our passports stamped on the way out of the country! So many people missed our flight back to New York because of this crazy procedure. Our flight was at 1am in the morning. We checked in at the outside counter at 9:30pm and did not get to our gate until 12:30am. I felt sorry for the people that were behind us checking in!”
Of course, wait times will vary to some degree at Buenos Aires’s international airport (EZE), but this is good to know. Thanks, Shaggy Dog!
