You can no longer buy day passes at Delta loungesIn November, Delta became the first major airline to eliminate the day pass option at its airport lounges. As my colleague and co-host :

“Delta said the decision to stop sales of single visit passes was spurred in part because its Sky Clubs are too crowded. Eliminating single visit passes effectively means access to Delta’s lounges are restricted to Sky Club members, international premium cabin fliers, SkyTeam elites on certain international itineraries and certain premium Delta or American Express credit card holders (those with lower-tier cards will still need to pay a discounted $29 entrance fee).”

Chris also wonders, as many in the industry have, about whether the other major airlines will follow Delta’s lead. “We’ve seen airlines act in unison on decisions like these,” he writes, “particularly when it comes to lounge access, so might we see one time use passes go away at other carriers? Probably. Crowding has become a major issue at all airport clubs.”

Stay tuned. And for Delta credit card options, see this post.

I will also add that Delta will not allow you to use miles as an option to buy a lounge pass unless you possess one of the criterion as mentioned in the article. No Delta CC, no pass.
