Check cruise ship schedules onlineEach Friday, we feature a reader-submitted tip as our Travel Tip of the Day. This week’s tip comes from reader Martha D. of Los Altos, CA, who says:

“Every city that is a stop for cruise ships can have some very crowded tourism days. You can easily check cruise ship schedules, for any port of call, on the internet. For example: We were in Athens, Greece this week. Monday had five cruise ships in port and people we met complained about the crowds. So, we decided to visit the Acropolis on Tuesday instead because there were no cruise ships in port. The crowds were much more moderate. This is of particular importance in smaller cruise ship ports, such as Alaskan villages.”

A great tip! Thanks, Martha!

It’s not much of a tip if you don’t actually provide the online link to check the schedules.
